Gaddaffi has been a darling of westerm media though in a negative sense since last 40 years. So the Libyan uprising was a main story that was being followed all the past 6 months. The fall of Gaddaffi got the media limelight. It is kind of strange that at certain times media gets involved with one news so much that they forget that there can be things that are going on with equal significance...
A case here is the "missed" news of what has been occuring in Syria. More than 3,000 protesters have been killed, many more injured, and thousands detained. Dozens of detainees have reportedly been tortured and killed.
The news of Syria was more important because of that the fact that there is a complete Royal house ruling it, a "real" case of dark aged Monarchy in our world.Regime change in Libya is more important as a major step of overthrowing absolute monarchy from the world. The Libyan bloodbath obscured an important happening in the middle east.
The effect has been that an international pressure which was required for regime change in Syria was directed to the Libya
Though the result has been good, yet world need not to forget that there is still an unfinished task after Gadaffi and that is to boot out Assad....
